Join Tasmanian’s up and coming sculptors
Sculpture courses at Tasmanian Sculpture School provide you with practical hands-on training to learn and develop your sculpture skills. So if you’re looking for a new hobby or have a passion for art and sculpture, why not enrol in one of our courses for all skill levels.
Our teachers at Tasmanian Sculpture School are experienced practicing sculptors, which means you’re getting professional guidance when you undertake one of our sculpture classes. Regular classes, workshops and altelier skills are taught by Jody Pawley, and we source guest artists from various backgrounds to run other, specialised workshops
We prefer to teach a structured approach, concentrating on the basics, and encourage students to develop good sculpting habits before focusing on refining or exploring more complex or creative projects.
Once students have gained confidence and are competent with the basics, they are then encouraged to explore different mediums and to further develop their own creativity and style. This is where the magic happens.
Most of our Tasmanian based sculpture classes use life models and are focused on the figurative aspect, but students have the freedom to choose other subjects to create.
Whether you know it or not you have your own artistic style, complete with its strengths and weaknesses. Tasmanian Sculpture School strives to create individual artists not just mirror images of your teachers. Our sculpture courses will help you refine and develop your strengths while recognising and addressing your weaknesses.
